Farris “Mac” LeGarde McBee, 89, of Martinsburg, WV and Vero Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2020.
He was born August 13, 1930 in Morgan County, WV to the late Wilbert and Barbara Householder McBee. Mac grew up in Sleepy Creek/ Hedgesville, WV with seven brothers and two sisters. He graduated from Hedgesville High School in 1948 where he played basketball and football.
Mr. McBee worked for B & O Railroad from 1947 to 1969 in Combo, WV. He later worked as manager and cemetery sales for Pleasant View Memory Gardens from 1970 until his retirement in 1995.
Mr. McBee was a founding member and Deacon of the Westview Baptist Church. He was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Martinsburg, WV. He was a member of the Moose, served as a Boy Scout Leader, Civitan and the Masonic Lodge of Martinsburg.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his loving wife of 69 years, Janet Knipe McBee, whom he married on April 6, 1950; children, Debbie McBee Wykoff (Richard) of Vero Beach, Kevin LeGarde McBee (Ursula) of Hedgesville and Colleen McBee Simpson (David) of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, David, Danelle, Brian and Abigail; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country.
