Frederick William Saunders, 80, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away at his home on May 23, 2021.
He was born August 16, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 9 years, coming from Middletown, NJ.
Mr. Saunders was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on board the USS Albacore during the Vietnam Era. Following his time in the Navy, Fred spent his career as Customs Broker Manager for United States Customs in New York and New Jersey until retirement in 1989 and later for FedEx, having retired in 2013 after 17 years.
Fred was a member of the Community Church of Vero Beach and enjoyed fishing and photography.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Colleen Saunders; children, Fred (Romena) Saunders, Jennifer (George) Ruddy, Christopher Saunders, and Jessica (Steven) Meinbresse; grandchildren, George Ruddy Jr., Frederick G. Saunders Jr., Gavin Ruddy, Fiona Saunders and Corinne Ruddy; sisters, Janet (Anthony) Luparello and Nancy (Kenneth) Knoke and his beloved furbaby, Maggie.
A memorial service was held at the Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
