Gale Kenneth Raupers

July 11, 1942 ~ March 26, 2020

Gale K. Raupers, 77, of Ulster, Pa passed away peacefully at his winter home in Vero Beach, FL on March 26, surrounded by his family.  He was born to the late Charles J. Raupers and Margaret L. Raupers (Vallilee) on July 11, 1942 in Sayre, Pa.  He was a Mason by trade, whether stone, concrete, brick or block.  An entrepreneur, he owned many businesses over his lifetime, including GKR Masonry, Raupers PreCast Steps, and The Wagon Wheel Ranch.

Gale had many passions in life.  He was an avid golfer; he loved playing at the Towanda Country Club (PA) and Sebastian Municipal Golf Course (FL).  He enjoyed listening to classic country and gospel music.  He had a passion for animals, especially his horses (Sunny and Jesse) and dogs (Bomber and Bubba). He took great pride in his wagon wheel collection, spent much of his life volunteering for the Ulster-Sheshequin Fire Department, and in his youth, enjoyed playing softball, sponsoring teams with GKR Masonry. In his retirement, he found joy going to classic car shows, following politics, and being surrounded by his family; having ten grandchildren, there was always a sport to watch or award to celebrate.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara, his children, Kenneth Raupers, Kimberly Kofke (Kyle), Rick Raupers, Shadoe McKee (Ian), and Tony Rockwell (Barbara), brothers Charles Raupers (Ann) and Joseph Raupers (Sylvia). Gale had ten grandchildren who meant the world to him: Nathan, Travis, Kenny, Macen, and Ariana (Kenneth), Gabrielle, Lilly, and Kyle Jr (Kimberly), Trinity (Shadoe), and Ryan (Tony).  He was blessed with two great-granddaughters – Kassidy (Nathan) and Nora Jane (Travis), and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Raupers (2002), and twin brother Gary Raupers (2018).

Memorial services will be held on a later date at Marriott-Bowen Funeral Home in Towanda, Pa.

To Barbara and family,
Sincerely saddened to learn of the passing of Gale, and also just learned of his brother Gary’s passing; Both shocking! For those of you who don’t know (or remember me), I got to know all the family in the late 70’s & early 80’s while living in Vero Beach & visiting Ulster.
At this time, I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to both families, and pray that God may grant you the strength to endure your recent losses.

I am Barbara Raupers little brother, and Beverly and I give our warmest condolences to Gale’s family in this time of separation. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth and the life,” and Gale believed him. He said, “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life,” and Gale received him. When the psalmist said, “The LORD is my shepherd,” Gale knew him that way, so when Gale walked through the valley of the shadow of death, we heard him tell his Lord, “I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.”
Before our Lord left he said, “I go to prepare a place for you… I will come again, and receive you unto myself.” Praise the Lord, He has a prepared place for a prepared people. Gale, we will see you in the morning.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
