Gary Dale Russell

September 12, 1955 ~ March 03, 2023

Gary D. Russell of Jensen Beach, Florida passed away on March 3, 2023. He was 67 years old.

Gary was born in Miami, Florida to Warren and Juanita Russell. Gary grew up in Miami and graduated from Miami Coral Park Senior High in Miami in 1974. Prior to Coral Park, Gary spent a year at Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Gary lived and worked in Miami during his early adult years then subsequently spent years living and working in Denver, Colorado, the Orlando, Florida area, Port St. Lucie, Florida and finally in Jensen Beach, Florida.

Gary started his career as a mechanic-a/c tech for Hertz Rental. He then worked at Anthony Abraham Chevrolet in Miami, and later at a European car shop in South Miami. In Denver, he drove a dump truck. From there he went to work at Williamson Cadillac in Miami. In the Orlando area he worked for MTA truck driving school and A-OK Tire, where he was a truck alignment technician. He finished his career working for Walmart in Port St. Lucie for 18 years in various positions within the stocking department.

Gary loved in-shore and off-shore fishing, boating, NASCAR, corvette restoration, yard work and being with his family.

Gary was a sweet, loving and good natured human being. He often said that when he married June Russell, he had met the love of his life. They were happily married for almost 14 years. Unfortunately, June predeceased Gary in 2000. Gary’s mother and father, Warren and Juanita Russell, and his half brother Charles Russell, predeceased him as well.

Gary is survived by his siblings, Sandra Cooper, Sharon Howard and Kenneth Russell Sr.; half brother David Russell; half sisters Lisa Ann Russell and Loretta Russell Roberson; his Aunt and Uncle, Wayne and Betty Cooper; his Uncle Hoyt Sappe and numerous cousins, nieces and grandnieces and nephews and grandnephews.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
