George  Halligan

August 11, 1938 – September 25, 2023

George Alfred Halligan passed away peacefully on 25 September 2023, at William Childs Hospice Home, Palm Bay, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 36 years,  Teresita Halligan.  He recently celebrated his 84th birthday at The Palms Rehab & Health Care, Palm Bay.

George was born in Brooklyn, New York moved to the Bronx during High School years. He joined the US Coast Guard in 1960 and served until his honorable discharge in1968.

He worked as a driver for a limousine service in Manhattan, New York where he recalled meeting and transporting many celebrities including Johnny Carson who ( “didn’t speak much during the ride” ). He also reported having a small part in a Woody Allen movie. A member of the American Federation of Musicians he spent some time in Puerto Rico working as a guitarist at the Sheraton Hotel. He completed his professional life as an E/M Technician at Quest Diagnostics.

George was an avid sailor who sailed his yacht from New Jersey to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. He and his wife settled in Palm Bay, Florida in 2011 where he lived until his recent passing.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George Alfred Halligan Sr. and mother Martha Steele Halligan.
