George Edward Tracy, Jr.

May 12, 1933 ~ June 12, 2021

George Edward Tracy Jr., 88, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away June 12, 2021, at Somerset House.
He was born May 12, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 37 years, coming from West Palm Beach, FL.
Mr. Tracy received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a first Lieutenant. He served during the Korean War and ended his military career as Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
Following his time in the service, Mr. Tracy worked as an engineer for various aircraft companies including Pratt Whitney and Sikorsky. He relocated to Vero Beach and worked as a sheriff deputy for the Indian River County Jail until his retirement in 2011.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Cathy Tracy of Anchorage, AK; granddaughters, Jessica (Matthew) Karol of Pocatello, ID and Melissa Tracy of Daytona, FL; great-grandchildren, Kason Karol, Corbin Karol, Ashlynn Karol and Declyn Karol. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Helen Tracy and his brother, John Tracy.
Inurnment with military honors was held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
