George T. Decker III

September 11, 1939 ~ March 26, 2022

George T. Decker III of Micco, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, after a long illness. He was born on September 11, 1939, in Washington, D. C. His family later moved to Delaware where he graduated from William Penn High School in 1959. On August 27, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Reeves, in New Castle, Delaware. George worked for Georgia Pacific gypsum plant in Wilmington, Delaware, for most of his career as an electrician and plant maintenance superintendent, retiring in 2000. That same year he and his wife relocated to Micco, Florida. He was a member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge in New Castle, Delaware, and also a life member of the Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. George was a member of Sebastian United Methodist Church for 20 years. In addition to his wife of 61 years, George is survived by a daughter, Deborah Decker of California, a son, George T. Decker IV (Rene) of North Carolina, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother, Edgar C. Decker of Wilmington, Delaware, and a brother-in-law, Lawrence T. Reeves of Roseland, Florida.
