Gregory Boyd Beyer

November 18, 1947 ~ December 03, 2020

On December 3, 2020, there were more jokes in heaven when Gregory Boyd Beyer passed away suddenly from complications due to ALS disease.  Those who knew Greg can already hear the jokes flying and the little arguments he is starting as he sits back quietly watching with a huge smile on his face. Greg had a full life, full of laughter and love.  He was a beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend to all; he never once met a stranger.  His blue eyes twinkled and lit a room, the literal embodiment of that “Santa vibe”.  He brought the good times.  His carefree, accepting attitude and sense of humor made him a joy to be around.

Greg enjoyed so many things in life. He could fix anything, and he could see the good in everything and everyone. He loved boating, camping, soccer, carpentry, and cruising (especially with his bride). In his younger years, he was a truck driver and Teamster’s leader.  Eventually, he became an insurance agent and excelled at that career until ALS claimed him.

Greg was admired for his ability to accept all and after many years of putting in the work to get there, he credited this to God and his continual work of 21 years with Alcoholics Anonymous. This eventually helped him guide and lead others through the process with grace and dignity. It was the work he treasured most and loved doing. He took phone calls at any hour and devoted himself to those in need.

Greg will be missed by a large community of friends and family, especially Sharon Beyer, his devoted and loving wife of 30 years; his children and their partners, Lacy Brownlee and Richard Peidro, Jeffrey Crandall, Kimberlie Martin, Lisa & Ralph Perricelli, and Petrese and Mike Simianakis; his grandchildren: Alec, Lucas & Evan Perricelli, Cameron and Ashlyn Simianakis, Ragine and Chance Crandall, Dustin Orcutt, and Ron Luce; his great-grandson Mali’Kye Thomas, and his sister and her spouse, Wendie & John Chornyak.

Greg was predeceased by his parents, Eleanor Robsky Beyer and Ellsworth Boyd Beyer, and his son Gregory Boyd Beyer II.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to The ALS foundation of Florida, Tampa who provided next-level support to our family during this difficult time.

Greg was one of the most sincere and caring individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was the ideal role model on how to be a good father and husband. This will always be part of his legacy, and he will be dearly missed.

Greg was and will always be the best brother in law anyone could ever have. He loved unconditionally and would tell you just what he thought. He was the love of my sister’s life as I have never seen her so happy as Greg made her, even when he was picking on her you saw the love in his eyes. He will greatly be missed by me but he will always be in my heart… just gone too soon …love and miss you Greg ❤️

Greg was one of those men who knew how to make everyone feel better. His sense of humor always made him the center of attention, even though it was usually a party for someone else.

I know we will all miss him.

Rest in Peace.

Greg I’ve known you for over 21 years and you were not only a friend but a mentor. We shared some deep dark secrets with each other over the years and I too will take them to my grave. You taught me how to live life on life‘s terms and were able to help me through some dark moments in my life. You were a kind and sensitive person and new how to bring out the best in me. I look forward to sharing the information that you taught me to help others the way that you helped me. I surely do miss our daily conversations and the laughs that we shared.I only hope that I can be helpful to someone else the way that you were to me. You surely will never be forgotten in my heart and you will be missed greatly. Thank you for sharing a part of your life with me and my family. May God be with you and may he put up with your practical jokes. LOL I love you buddy.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
