Gregory “Greg” S. Pike, 73, passed away Jan. 26, 2022 at his home in Vero Beach, FL, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his adoring wife of almost 30 years, Sandy (née Buck); beloved father of   Gregory S. Pike, Jr. (Elysa), Libby Pike Sharkey (Matt), and Peter Lindmark; loving grandfather of Ryan, Bradley, and Danny Pike, Emily and Allison Sharkey; brother of Bryon A. Pike (Cindy); uncle of B. Andrew Pike and Natalie Pike; 5 brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, their spouses and families, all of whom adored Greg.

Born to Katherine (nee Stevens) and Albert R. Pike, he grew up in Mentor, Ohio, graduated from Mentor High, Ashland College, and Rutgers’ Stonier School of Banking.  A true gentleman with a wonderful sense of humor, Greg had many interests that included golfing, skeet shooting, photography, gardening, travel, art, music, cooking, being at his Florida beach home, and especially spending time with family and his many friends. He will be remembered as a man of great warmth and character, an optimist who embraced life with determination, fascination, courage, and humor.

Greg began his banking career at National City Bank, where he rose to Head of Private Banking, then went on to executive positions at Fifth Third Bank, First County Bank (President), and hedge fund Corsair Partners (NYC). He was a member of the Vero Beach Yacht Club and former member and board member of the Kirtland Country Club. Giving back was important to Greg and he served on several business and university boards, as well as South Russell Village Parks Committee and his OH and FL Homeowners’ Associations.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg’s name can be made to Village Hall, South Russell Community Park, 5202 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 or McKee Botanical Gardens, 350 US-1, Vero Beach, FL 32962. Please write “in memory of Greg Pike.”

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
