Gregory Wayne Cooper, 68, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on December 27, 2025. Born on September 27, 1957, in Buffalo, New York, Greg was the beloved son of Glenn and Kathryn “Kay” Cooper.
He is survived by his mother, Kay Cooper; his brother, Steve Cooper; and his sisters, Kathy Cooper, Rose Cooper, and Anne Cooper. Greg also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Cooper, and his brother, Jeff Cooper.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Greg lived a life marked by dedication and curiosity. He earned two bachelor’s degrees in human psychology and environmental management and believed deeply in the power of education. Greg was an active member of his community, serving as a karate coach at Master Dave’s House of Warriors and participating in the Veteran’s Organization. He was on track to earn his black belt in April—a testament to his discipline and perseverance.
Greg will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought to others. His laughter could fill a room, and his kindness was evident in the quiet, meaningful ways he cared for those around him, including adopting a senior dog named Smoke, who became his cherished companion.
Greg’s legacy of love, service, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

So saddened by the passing of Greg. I remember how highly my Mom (his Aunt Ina) thought of Greg. He & Mom would watch the Price is Right together, and all his little pop in visits to her. It meant so much to her. Greg followed his Father’s footsteps, Uncle Glenn would bring Mom (his sister) donuts. They would enjoy a cup of coffee & a donut and off Uncle Glenn would go for his next good deed. Greg was like his Father in so many ways. I’m so glad as I have said before that Greg & I had a very nice visit while he was in Cuba (NY) for his Dad’s funeral.
Condolences to all, and keeping Aunt Kay in my prayers
