Jacquie Stanford passed away in her home on the 16th of January, 2023 at the age of 96. She was born in Wayne, Nebraska where she lived for 20 years, graduating from Wayne Prep High School and Nebraska State College at Wayne with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After four years of teaching high school band and chorus, she was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy. She served for 7 years in the navy before resigning when she married Vernon Stanford, a naval aviator stationed at the Naval Air Station in Quonset Point, R.I.
After his retirement, they moved to Satellite Beach, Florida in 1964 and later to Indian Harbor Beach, where she taught music at Surfside Elementary School for ten years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Stanford, and a sister and brother.
She is survived by two sons, Murray and Mark and their wives and grandson, Scott and his wife.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she served as choir director for several years when the church was first established.
It was her preference not to have a memorial service. She asked that those wishing to honor her memory do so with random acts of kindness to other people, pets, and wildlife.

Miss Me…. But Let Me Go
When I get to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul that’s free?
Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared.
Miss me-but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds.
Miss me-but let me go.
