Joel Barry Weber

September 12, 1949 ~ August 14, 2026

Joel Weber, 76, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Joel was the son of the late Julius Weber and Evelyn Swift Weber. Although Joel was a Brooklyn boy through and through, he lived over half of his life in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he served nearly 35 years as a Court Clerk at the Broward
County Courthouse earning the respect of his colleagues.

After retiring, Joel moved to Port Saint Lucie with his wife, Angela, and her children, filling a new chapter with family, friends, a bit of travel and enjoying the comforts of home.

A lifelong animal lover, Joel devoted many years as a volunteer with Cats Exclusive, Inc. in Broward County. At one point, he opened his home to eight Persian show cats. At the time of his passing, he was the proud dog “dad” of Kandi, his affectionate toy poodle.

Joel and Angela shared twelve years of marriage – years filled with a lot of laughter and time spent with friends and family. Though Joel never had children of his own, he cherished Angela’s children, and the love and respect they gave him was fully returned. To her grandchildren, he was “Grampy Joe,” a title he treasured and lived up to with pride.

Joel was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Weber Fassberg; and his stepdaughter, Kalyn Diaz Bates.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Angela (Huffstetler); his loving sister, Shelley W. Elias; his nieces Rachel (Michael) Pearl, Julie Fassberg, and Jackie Fassberg; his aunt and uncle, Murray and Judy Swift; his two grand nephews, Jacob and Jeremy; numerous cousins; and his step children Ryan (Nicole) Erickson, Adam (Molly) Diaz, Nicholas (Edra) Diaz, and Kamryn Adams.
He also leaves behind the sunshine of his life, his step grandchildren, Krystal and Braesyn Bates and Vincent “Vinny” Diaz.
In his later years, Joel faced kidney failure with dignity, strength and perseverance.

In recognition of his experience with kidney disease, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation in his honor.

Joel will be well remembered and greatly missed for the love he gave-both to the family he was born into and the family he chose-and for the many lives, two legged and four legged, that were better because he was a part of them.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
