John H. Barton, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on June 3” at Cleveland Clinic in Vero Beach. John was born on July 12, 1939 to Edna Louise (Taylor) and Oscar Barton in Bridgeport, CT. He attended the Watkins School, University School and Boston University earning a BA and MBA. He started his career working for the International Silver Company in CT, and then for several other small companies in the state while raising his young family. John was a terrific athlete and played football in his younger years. He enjoyed all paddle sports, but especially tennis all of his adult life. Wherever John was, you knew that fun was right around the corner. He enjoyed laughter, and making people laugh. Singing was his passion and he was a past member of many choirs and musical groups. He was civically minded having served his community on many boards and committees over his lifetime. John moved from Easton, CT to Vero Beach in 1994, where he continued his working career as a financial advisor, and had been working for Raymond James at the time of his death. He had been a former member of the Shuttle Meadow Country Club in CT, as well as the Fairfield County Hunt Club where he had served as President. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Elizabeth Barton Olmstead {Scott) of Keene, NH, Julie Barton Tarasovic and Jennifer Barton both of Vero Beach. His grandchildren, Stephanie Ericson (Patrick), Avery Fuller
{Sam), Taylor Tarasovic and Phillip Tarasovic, along with 4 great grandchildren, Porter, Everett, and Harlow Ericson, and Jameson Fuller. Donations in his memory can be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Services will be private.
