John “Jack” Reilly passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family May 9, 2022 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce.
Born in Flushing, NY to James and Mary (Murphy) Reilly on November 4 , 1936. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Jack lived in New York prior to moving to Florida and finally settling in Port St Lucie in 1991.
He is preceded in death by his wife Gayla and daughter Susan. Survived by his daughter Allison and her husband Jeff , daughter Caroline , grandchildren Jeremy and Amanda and great granddaughter Sophie, his brother Owen and sisters Terry and MaryEllen.
Jack loved the outdoors from being out on the water to being on the golf course (his one true love). He never turned down an opportunity to play or watch a golf match. He would regale everyone with stories of his youth and his trips to Yankee stadium as well as being a lifelong Yankees fan. He loved his sports and watched anything with a ball. His love of music would include Sinatra, Streisand, Buble` and Celine Dion. He and his wife Gayla enjoyed world travel having visited many different countries with beautiful pictures of their journeys. Their bond was a strong one, reunited once again only 6 months apart.
He was known for his friendliness and never hesitated to make you laugh and smile. He always made you feel welcomed and had a joke to share. Jack never had a bad day unless he shot above par on the course, with remarkably three holes in one during his lifetime. Most of all, Jack will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor and kindness. His family will miss him terribly but find comfort knowing that he is finally at peace. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
Interment will take place at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth at a later date.

I will definitely miss the quick jokes this man would say! He always caught me off guard with his humor but it was always a good time having him around. I am so grateful he was able to meet his great granddaughter! They enjoyed eachother with the time they were able to spend together. The holidays will be hard without you Grandpa but I know you will always be with us! I’ll make sure I always have shows on my feet just for you! They better give you some wine in Heaven! We will always love and miss you.
Love,
Your granddaughter

Jack was an awesome grandfather to me and my sister. My best memories were spent golfing with him on the golf course and watching sporting events together. He was always knowledgeable of all sports. Rest easy grandpa.

Dad, I will miss you from the start to the end of each day. My life has changed so much recently that it’s hard to look forward. Jeff, the kids and I will miss your advice and company. I know you’ll always be with us. Spending the last 6 months with you meant so much to me. I hope heaven has a golf course for you!
Love your daughter,
Allison
