Joseph Carl DeJoy, 90, of Vero Beach passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022.

 

He was born December 17, 1931 in Buffalo, New York to Carl and Josephine (nee Tortorice) DeJoy.

 

Joseph served in the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement he worked at New York Hospital for over 30 years as an electrician and construction manager.

 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 22 years, Edna; son, Gary; brother, John; son-in-law, Joe; long time companion, Helen Brown and his parents.

 

Survivors include his sons, Michael of Florida and Robert (Oneika) of New Jersey; daughter, Joanne of New Jersey; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica (Sean), and Michael (Giuliana); great-grandchildren, Avery, Olivia and Mia; and his sisters, Joanne and Pat.

 

A mass will be held at 10:30 AM on September 27, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2141 29th Street, Astoria, NY 11105. Joseph will then be inurned at Long Island National Cemetery next to his late wife, Edna.
