Joe came to Vero Beach in 1976. He bought Mid-Coast Tire from Ella and John Dodd and never looked back. Besides running MCT, he got great pleasure out of playing many golf courses, his blackjack tournaments/poker games, his Washington Football Team, J&B Scotch, travel, music, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and charming all the ladies. Most of all he adored his family and friends.
Joe was known by many names, but his favorites were Babser & CP. He was admired by all who knew him and he gave back in full.
During his lifetime, Joe was active in Jaycees, Kiwanis, Blood Bank and other civic activities.
Joe fully loved his precious daughter, Diane and his (Handsome Stranger) grandson, Rusty, who both left us way too soon.
Joe leaves behind his favorite lady, Joyce (Babe); his special daughter, Sandy Bevard; his granddaughter, Joey McGee (Beau-CP’s Buddy); his great-grandchildren, Gracie & Max; his grandson, Jason Wisniewski (Carol), great-granddaughters, Lexi & Rylie; his granddaughter, Cristi Moore (Doug); his granddaughter-in-law, Erin Carkovic (Alekos); great-grandson, Ace Bevard and Ace’s brother, Calix Carkovic.
Joe was one of a kind and believed “What Ever Will Be, Will Be” and lived his life “Joe’s Way”.
If you would like to support a charity in Joe’s memory, we suggest Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, www.ocrahope.org or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org, in hopes there will soon be a cure. Also, VNA Hospice of Vero Beach, www.vnatc.org, was so helpful and understanding making Joe as comfortable as possible.
At Joe’s request there will be no service.

Joyce and family, I was so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. A great friend, even though we have drifted apart in retirement. Many good times shared and many memories created. May he RIP, and God’s healing power comfort you all.
