June Lorraine Leddy

September 14, 1945 ~ April 27, 2021

June Lorraine Leddy, 75 of Vero Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at home on April 27th 2021 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

June was born on September 14, 1945 in Jamestown, ND.  She graduated from high school and soon after became a telephone operator, where she met her future husband.  She married John Eugene Leddy in December of 1964 and they raised their family in Waseca, MN.  In 1976 they relocated to Vero Beach Florida where June resided for 45 years.  John died in March of 2013.  June was also preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Katherine Morris, her sister Velma Roeske, her brother in laws; Leroy Roeske, Paul McBride and Stanley Dockter and her sister in law Anne Marie Plunkett.

June was a bookkeeper.  She then pursued a career within the travel agency for many years before landing in the volunteer arena with her local hospital as well as knitting many blankets for the Veterans association and baby booties and hats for the birthing unit.  June adored her family, loved helping others and was a dear friend to so many people and had an unforgettable smile that warmed everyone she met.  Her heart was made of gold and she lived her life by always giving so much to others.  She enjoyed travel, playing cards, cooking, knitting and crocheting.  She will be sorely missed.

June is survived by her 2 children: Katherine Anna (Christopher) Comeau and John Thomas Leddy; her 3 grandchildren Grady, Christopher and Joshua Comeau, her two sisters Margaret McBride and Dorothy Dockter as well as many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in June’s name to The Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date this year.

We are so sorry for your loss JT and Kathy & Family! June was a very dear cousin ❤! She fought a long battle with cancer, but she always seem to stay so positive and always so upbeat when she came to visit. Her time finally came for her to rest and be with the rest of her love ones! RIP June until we meet again!❤

She was an angel. Always so welcoming and friendly. Loved her smile and so giving to others. She also raised two of the best people I know. Thoughts are with them at this time.

Kathy and John,
Words can not express how amazing your mom and dad were and how heart broken I am for your loss. I know your mom is at peace and smiling because she is with Jesus and your dad.

In high school, Your home, was my home. I’d have been lost without the four of you. I’ll always cherish days at your house, your mom making her awesome tuna casserole with potato chips and sweet-n-low while all of our Sea Horse BFF’s sat in your living room watching General Hospital.

Your home was always a place of love and acceptance, joy, hope, friendship and inspiration. Your mom and dad made it that way. Thank you for sharing your mom with the world. She will be missed. Your boys have so much to cherish about her. You and Chris and John will always be close and understand the meaning of “Family.” You had great role models.

I miss you. I love you. And may God bring you comfort when you miss her and hope in His promise that you will see her again!

Love always and forever,
Kim (Nolan-Sheehan)

June was the mother to my dear Kappa Kappa Gamma little sister Kathy! I got to know June through her daughter who has the same infectious smile as her mom. My heart breaks for Kathy and her brother, but I know June is up in Heaven pain-free and reunited with her wonderful Husband!!! God Bless the Leddy family. I love you Kathy!!! Your big sister, Gwen Gutowski Ford.

A phenomenal woman, June’s capacity to love was matched only by her ‘grace & guts’. Her beautiful brown eyes always twinkled with mischief. We were lucky to have her in our lives. Love to Kathy & JT – Julianne, Andy & Richard Scrivener

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
