Karen J. Conklin

May 13, 1950 ~ August 09, 2023

Karen J. Conklin, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2023 surrounded by all the people that she loved and held dear to her heart and rejoined her place next to her late husband.

Karen was born in Meadville, PA but moved to Vero Beach as a teenager where she became a lifelong resident when she wasn’t traveling the road with her husband, Al.  She married the love of her life, had a family, enjoyed working with people and making friends wherever she was. She took great joy in watching her children navigate life and have families of their own and was also grateful to get to enjoy time and make memories as a grandmother and great grandmother.

Karen is survived by her little sister Linda Gage (Butch), her son Neil Caudill (Sharon), her 2 daughters Erin Anderson (John) and Shannon Purvis (Jeffrey). Grandchildren: Cheyanne Caudill Anderson (Dylan), Neil Caudill Jr, Tyler O’Herien, Gage Caudill, Ashley Bishop (Gray), Shaila Purvis, Elizabeth Purvis, Savannah Owle, Jason Martinez, Olivia Martinez, Cynthia Martinez & Victoria Martinez.  Nieces: Laurel Evans (Tony), Cari Carson (Larry) and Megan Gage and last and most importantly her “littles” the great-grandchildren Jaxan Caudill, Alexander Caudill, Zachariah Caudill, Adilynn Caudill, Arthur Bishop, Jack Bishop, Gavin Storey, Haven Storey and Dexter Storey.

To know her was to love her and when she took you under her wing and told you to call her “Granny” you knew you held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Ellsworth (Al) Conklin & parents Francis Riordan and Neil Johnson.

Prayer

I give you this 1 thought to keep…

I am with you still – I do not sleep…

I am a thousand winds that blow…

I am the diamond glints on snow…

I am the sunlight on ripened grain…

I am the gentle autumn rain…

When you awaken in the mornings hush…

I am the swift, uplifting rush…

of quiet birds in circled flight…

I am the soft stars that shine at night… Do not think of me as gone… I am still with you…in each and every new dawn.

In lieu of a funeral service the family will be arranging and hosting a celebration of life in the weeks to follow and commencing in a final ride in the fall of 2024. Dates and arrangements will be forthcoming.

Good bye ole friend
As some of you might know, Karen was my first girlfriend
Out of High School we went separate ways, I joined the military (Marines) for 4 years and stayed for 21 years
I kept track of her the best I could all these years.
She was a very special person and someone that I will always have fond memories of.
Rest in peace

In times like this,to be honest, all our life together, I actually am at a loss for words. There isn’t anything I can say that will make the emptiness go away or make it better. I hope you know at least that I’m thinking of you and the family. I’m just a call away.
Karen, fly high, and show me rainbows.
Oh how I will miss you, as our relationship was family first, cousins second and a love between us that no one would understand.
Until we meet again I’ll say au revoir!

I will miss you, more than you know. Though we only talked on Facebook book as I lived in Ohio now..I’ll always have the little memories growing up. I know you’re back with Al now, where you so deeply longed to be,Im also sure he was waiting with open arms to greet you. Hug Al for me and Aunt Pat also…and if you happen to see my papa and Grandma..please hug them a little longer and tighter for me. Rest easy, your fight is done. You can ride the golden roads with no cares or worries. I love you . Until then…❤️

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
