Kathleen “Kathi” Emily Magale Edwards

November 27, 1946 ~ February 11, 2024

Kathleen Emily Magale Edwards, 77, was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, February 11, 2024, after a brief illness.
Kathi was born in Queens, New York, but enjoyed growing up in Point Lookout, Long Island, New York, and later in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kathi graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School and went on to have a successful career at Florida Power & Light Company as a Right of Way Representative assisting in the acquisition of land in Florida where many of the power transmission lines are in place today. Kathi enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim and visited spectacular places such as Alaska, Spain, Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, and her favorite, Ireland. Kathi was proud of her Irish heritage exhibited by her auburn hair and beautiful emerald-green eyes.
Kathi was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Nellie Magale, and her brother Eugene.
Kathi is survived by her adoring and devoted husband of 37 years, James F. Edwards, her loving son Christopher M. Edwards and his wife Lisa, her granddaughter Kristin Edwards and great grandchildren Morgan and Chase, and her granddaughter Alecia Edwards. Kathi is also survived by her stepdaughter, Christine E. Lamia and her husband Vince, her step grandson Nicholas Lamia and his wife Kelsea, and her step granddaughter Sarah Lamia. Kathi will be greatly missed by her cousins Billy and Helen Magale and her close friends Susan, Marvene and Micheline, who attentively and compassionately watched over her during these past few months.
The family would like to thank VNA Hospice for their professional and compassionate care. To honor Kathi’s memory, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
