Leo J. Strelecki

April 10, 1931 ~ September 20, 2022

Leo J. Strelecki, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Leo was born on April 10, 1931, to Francis and Frances Strelecki, the fourth of eleven children.

He and his wife Sandy were residents of Sebastian from 1986 to 1999, Barefoot Bay from 1999 to 2021 and Sebastian again from 2012 until his passing.

Leo graduated from Arenac Eastern High School in Michigan and attended Lake Superior State College in Upper Michigan. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and was a member of IEEE. He worked for Michigan Bell Telephone for 28 years.

Leo served 4 years in the US Air Force and was a Staff Sergeant when he returned to civilian status.

Leo was an avid softball player. He was a member of the Vero Beach Codgers and the Barefoot Bay and Sebastian softball teams.

Leo is survived by his wife, Sandy. He is also survived by his brother, Clem; sisters, Nettie, and Barbara; his goddaughters, Patty and Kelly; godsons, David and Christopher; brother-in-law, Tim Ignash, wife, Chris and their children and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best “pet friends”, Peanut and Lola.

Leo was predeceased by his mother, Frances; father, Francis; sister, Eva; brothers, Ray, Ed, Ted, Stanley, Florian and Andrew.

He is also survived by very special friends, Marjorie Cook, Michael Cook and wife, Sally and their son, Thomas, Julie Moore and husband, Danny, son, Chris and wife Susan, daughter Alyssa and husband, Steve, son Scott; Lisa Gann, daughters, Erica and Lexie, son Kyle, Linda Sepanek and husband, Rob, son, Mickey and wife, Rachel, daughter, Kendall and husband, Chase and their children, Beau, Eden, and Nolen, son, Logan and wife Kaylee.

A memorial mass will be held in Florida and Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Millennium Cremation Service, Sebastian.
