Leonard Heinlein, 88, of Vero Beach, Florida passed on May 25, 2022 at Vero Beach Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

Len was a logger in his early teen years and graduated from Glidden High School in 1952. He attended Northland College on an athletic scholarship but enlisted in the Army in 1954 to serve his country honorably in Korea for the next two years. Afterward, he attended and graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering. Len worked for Prime Manufacturing in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, as Sales Manager and later as Vice President. He traveled worldwide for the company.

Len was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He regularly attended the Christian Science Church of Vero Beach with his family. He loved the north woods and enjoyed working on and maintaining the log cabins and many projects on the Clam Lake property. He also enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips in the US and Canada.

Len is preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Ronald (Shirley), Larry (Jill), and Audrey Manzke (Bob). He is survived by his loving wife Joy (Stuebe), married 64 years; five children: Cheryl Cofrin, Carol Plotkowski (Mike), Julie Sims (Jason), Jill Ferrie (Dave), and Holly Hughes; and also 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Len’s family remembers him as a loving husband and father, and a hard worker who could fix just about anything.

In honor of Len’s wishes, there will be a family memorial service in Clam Lake, Wisconsin that will take place at a later date.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
