Leslie Abbott, 81 years old, passed away on May 24th. She was born in Winnetka, Illinois, graduated from New Trier High School and Skidmore College.
Upon Marrying her loving and exceptionally caring husband, Robert (Bob) Abbott jr, of 60 years, Leslie became an East coast transplant living in Weston, Ma early on and later the Cape and Vero Florida. They raised three wonderful children; Anne Randle, Elizabeth Kolman and Robert Abbott III and boast eight grandchildren.
Leslie was a pioneer in her day, starting her own consulting business. She was known for her love of life, her party giving and her sense of humor. Leslie developed many special relationships over the years as were evidenced at her 80th birthday party in Chatham when people came from far and wide to celebrate with her.
Leslie loved competition and winning. She never met a game or sport that she didn’t excel at. She was an avid bridge player, golfer, tennis player, skier.
She loved to sing and shared this passion with her husband. Together, they belonged to and performed with several groups.
Leslie lived life to its fullest with no apologies. She was so thankful in the end to be lucid and able to connect and say goodbye to her family and friends.
As one of her friends wrote to her in her last days; “Leslie, you are unique, formidable and funny, crusty and caring…tough and tender. You are clearly one of a kind.” And that she was!
Leslie will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
