Lois L. Sferra

August 26, 1934 ~ January 27, 2022

Lois L. Sferra , 87, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2022.

Lois was born on August 26, 1934, to parents John J. and Lula E. Loper in Braganza, GA. She grew up in a loving Christian home with 2 sisters and 5 brothers. In 1942, the family moved to Mississippi, where she attended and graduated from Hattiesburg High School. Later, she moved to Atlanta, GA, where she lived with her sister, Wilma Minix. While there, she worked at DuPont and met her husband, Giorgio Gioachino Sferra of San Felice Circeo, Italy, who was attending Georgia Tech University.

After Giorgio graduated, they relocated to Venezuela where they built their lives together and raised their 4 children surrounded by her husband’s family from Italy. After spending many years in Venezuela, they decided to relocate back to the United States to Miami, FL. The couple was married for 31 years.

Lois was a devoted mother to her family of three boys and one girl. She was involved with managing personal properties which led to her true passion in real estate sales. In 1993, she moved to Vero Beach, FL, where she continued her real estate career at Dale Sorensen Real Estate and Starfish Realty.

Lois was loving, kind, and always put others first before herself. She loved her hobbies of needle point and sewing, and she had an amazing sense of fashion and style. She loved God and always had a happy, vivacious spirit that lit up any gathering where she was present.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Giorgio Sferra; her parents, John J. Loper and Estelle Loper; three brothers, Perry A. Loper, Eldred E. Loper, Palmar A. Loper, and sisters, Wilma Minix and Jonnie Michel.

Lois is survived by three brothers, John J. Loper (Barbara) of Biloxi, MS, Richard E. Loper (Bobbie) of Lakeland, FL, and Paul N. Loper (Betty) of Hattiesburg, MS; and four children, Francisco Giorgio Sferra of Vero Beach, FL, Samantha (Michael) Marinoff of Miami, FL, Alex Sferra (Yadi) of Vero Beach, FL, and Yuri Sferra of Vero Beach, FL; and four grandchildren, A.J. and Ethan Sferra, Carrie Estelle Marinoff, and Bruno Sferra.

A Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date. Please contact St. Helen’s Catholic Church for service information.

I have never thought the day would come so soon. I was beginning to send letters to Grammy LoLo to bring light to the dark times where she had been hospitalized. It struck my heart when I heard the sad news that she’s no longer with us.

She was a great grandmother. She was always so caring, kind, and most importantly, she was strong. She brought my brother and myself up when things were tough. I remember her telling me stories about her while she was working— she lived a very long life and she fought a plethora of battles in said lifetime.

My condolences go to my dad, Alex Sferra Sr., his brothers and sister, and everyone who had been very close to Grammy LoLo after all these years.

She was present in my early childhood and I will always cherish all the good memories I have with her. She will forever hold a special place in my heart and surely she will find peace in a better place.

I love you Grammy LoLo. I miss you very much.

This happened so soon. She was a big part of my childhood. She was generous, caring, and most importantly a wonderful grandmother. I remember the times when I was small we spent a lot of time together such as painting, and when things were rough she cheered me up like nothing bad was happening. My condolences go to my father Alex Sferra Sr, his brothers and sister such as my aunt and uncle, and everyone who was close with Grammy LoLo.
All of those memories I will admire and cherish and hold place in my heart. She would be really sad if I were holding myself back from being happy mourning her death, which is why I will stay happy and move forward.
God Bless Grammy LoLo and her soul, she will not be forgotten, and she may Rest In Peace.
I love you, miss you to death, and thank you for everything

My condolences to your family for your loss. I had the pleasure to work with Lois at Century 21 Oceanside. She was always dressed to the nine, such a happy spirit filled, sweet, considerate, trust worthy, and all around a beautiful person.
She will be missed.

My husband and I are so very sorry for your loss. She was our realtor when we moved to Vero Beach, and she was a joy to work with…even gave us a lovely housewarming gift…which I’ll cherish always. Our deepest condolences.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
