Lynda Jane Lobsitz-Smith

October 26, 1954 ~ February 05, 2021

With Great Sadness we announce the departure of Lynda Lobsitz-Smith who died peacefully in her sleep at home with her beloved husband at her side. Lynda, the youngest of four siblings was a very special lady, a loving wife, a dear friend, and will be greatly missed by many loved ones and by many people thoughout the community.

Lynda was born in Glen Ridge New Jersey and grew up in Montclair New Jersey, attending Montclair High School and New England College in New Hampshire, where she studied theater. As a child, she was remembered for always singing and dancing around the house and sang in the church choir. She took many dance classes including ballet and tap, always enjoying an audience. In High School she was active in chorus, improv, and theater.

Her career encompassed accounting, then management at Prudential Insurance in New Jersey, and when she moved to Florida she became active in real estate, and eventually became owner of a real estate business, “Beach and Beyond Rentals” in Vero Beach for a number of years until she sold the business and retired.

Always an adventurer, Lynda loved to travel with the love of her life, husband Bob, throughout the USA and Canada by car, plus they took vacations to many countries around the world. Lynda also loved to golf with her husband, they were members of VBCC and traveled extensively throughout the USA playing the best courses. Road trips, sometimes with her siblings included Yellowstone, Tetons, Yosemite, the entire USA West Coast including the San Juan Islands, also Vegas, Alaska, and many Carribbean Island Trips. They were lucky to have spent many years together sharing their interests of travel, boating, golf and family. Always giving and generous with her time, active in the community, and being a wonderful cook, she enjoyed hosting parties, arranging group travel, and entertaining friends and family.

Lynda is survived by her husband Bob with his daughter Kimberly, brothers Tom and John Lobsitz and Sister Julie Soneira along with their spouses and children. Lynda was predeceased by her Mother Mary Elizebeth Lobsitz and Father Jules Lambert Lobsitz along with best friends Cecil Mannion, Kelley Tartannis, Tina Jackson and Ann Wilson.

Donations may be made to St. Helen Church in Vero Beach.

Bob, my heart goes out to you, you have been a phenomenal support to Lynda. Having just lost her partner and my sister, I sure know how that feels. Interesting they were a little more than a month apart . Anything I can do Bob, I am here. Sandy

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
