Lynda Marie Thompson Clinton

January 23, 1960 ~ June 16, 2021

Lynda Marie Thompson Clinton of Vero Beach, born January 23, 1960, was killed in a traffic collision Wednesday morning, June 16, 2021. The youngest of five children of Dr. Rollin and Lillian Thompson, she was raised in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado, graduating from Cherry Creek High School and the University of Northern Colorado.  She and her husband, Sean Clinton, left Colorado for Florida, eventually settling down in Vero Beach, where they raised their two sons, Caden and Curren.  After divorcing, Lynda, a certified gemologist, worked in the jewelry business, most recently at the Kay jewelry store in Vero Beach.  She had a big heart, insuppressible optimism, a green thumb and was an avid orchid gardener, pet lover and friend to all she met.

Lynda leaves behind her sons Caden and Curren Clinton, her pride and joy, in addition to brothers Michael (Regie) and Mark (Vicci) Thompson and sisters Karyn Thompson-Panos (Dean) and Sheri Vernon (Mick), along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River Co. https://www.hsvb.org/

A memorial service was held at Rock City Garden, 9080 US Hwy 1 Wabasso, FL 10:30am

My precious baby sister, I miss you every minute of every day. You were an angel on earth with your empathetic heart, giving spirit and nostalgic nature. Your sense of humor could brighten the darkest day. I can’t imagine life without you, Lyndy. Your absence leaves a huge void for all who love you.

My deepest sympathies to all of you. Lynda was my best friend and maid of honor at Jim’s and my wedding. She loved her children so very much. There was not an animal she did not love and care for. She will be missed so much. May memories of her bring us all joy

We forgot to mention Lynda’s joy of music. We shared that. Since twice she managed record stores, her memory of songs was competitive to mine. Music is a powerful ally to fall back upon when life gets unbearable. Tonight familiar words & notes fill my
head – “And in the End” … it was the love she gave.

Full of optimism, always smiling, offering support and love selflessly, you were the best littlest sister a girl could have. May your spirit soar and shine down on your heartbroken family, reminding your sons daily in many small ways that you are with them.

My deepest sympathies go out to Lynda’s family at this very sad time. I got to know Lynda while working at Dr. Wije’s office. It didn’t take long for me to realize what a wonderful mother she was to Cayden and Curren. Her voice sounded like a smile which told me she had a beautiful soul. Rest in peace Lynda, Spread your wings And I know you will be watching over us.

Oh Lynda. My friend, my coworker. You were one of THE MOST beautiful souls I have ever crossed paths with. Your love for your sons and your family was admirable. Driving me home and listening to your favorite CDs you had piled high in your car will always be a wonderful memory. Your love for your animals just spoke volumes on your soul. I will miss your words of wisdom and your beautiful nature. I am so very heartbroken, but I know you are at peace and will watch over Caden and Curren as you always have. Fly high beautiful angel. Heaven gained one of the purest souls from this earth ❤️

Lynda I knew you for a short period of time but you taught me so many life lessons that I will forever keep in my heart. You were loving in anyway even to strangers. You taught me family was #1 and that life was about the simple things. Your love for plants, Ally cat, animals, music and those you loved will always be the memories I cherish. You were not just my Co worker at Kays but someone who was my friend I love you always and am missing your texts and calls terribly

This is one of the toughest things I’ve had to do… is to say, goodbye to my dearest friend, you’re more of a sister to me always said you were my sister from another Mr.❤️ I can’t believe you’re gone! Always going to be in our hearts forever! I’m gonna miss the talks, the laughs, my hurricane buddy. I hope you know how much you are loved❤️Even through the intimidating hurricanes, we always found a way to laugh and have a good time together. I promise I’ll always be here for your boys! They have always been your heart and soul! I love you Lynda, with all my heart ♥️ & I can’t imagine not being able to see you or hear you voice again

My sweet Lyndy girl… The world lost an actual angel on earth. It will be impossible to fill the void in all of our hearts. Your love was so BIG, pure and contagious. You touched so many peoples lives just through your smile, laugh and kind spirit. I will miss saying to Ross, are you kidding, it’s from my Aunt Lyndy. The amount of little surprises you sent us in the mail over the years always brought such a huge smile to my face. Thank you for loving me and always being my #1 cheerleader. More importantly, thank you for showing me how to be such an incredible aunt. I don’t know how I will ever live up to the kind of aunt you were. You are so deeply missed and so loved Lyndy. Take care of my sweet puppy Doc up there… Until we meet again. Xx

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
