Marco A. Gonzalez

October 05, 1973 ~ August 30, 2023

Marco A. Gonzalez, 49 of Port St. Lucie, Florida went to be with the Lord the last week of August 2023.

He was born October 5, 1973 in Englewood, New Jersey; one of three children born to Diego A. and Maria Gonzalez.  Marco moved to Port St. Lucie in August 2012 from Cliffside, New Jersey.

Marco was an independent contractor working as a product developer for crypto exchange and had also been a consultant for information services.  He was very proud of earning a Masters Degree in Aviation Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida.

He was a Christian and believed in the goodness of God and the promise of salvation.

Marco was passionate about football. He was an accomplished running back at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City and later, as a senior at Cliffside Park High School, earned all state recognition for taking “down the big guys”. For him, the game was a metaphor for life.

Marco enjoyed hiking up the mountains nearby and sometimes persuaded his dad to join him just to spend time together.  After moving to Florida, he embraced the beauty of the ocean. Frequently taking long drives with his father to talk, share feelings and explore beaches together. Stuart Beach was his favorite spot to surf and swim. That is where we intend to cast his ashes.

We will always remember how he cared and expressed his love with carefully selected token gifts for birthdays, Christmas, and often for no reason other than to express his love

Marco is survived by his loving parents, Diego and Maria; sister, Kristina Heit; brother, Gregory Gonzalez; niece, Miranda Heit; nephew Devin Heit and long time family friend, Alicia.

Creator of Life, God, You are the Way, the Truth, the Life! You know our days and it surprised us that Marc was brought to Your side early. Yet, we praise You. The emptiness now in Diego & Maria’s & family’s hearts is immense. Help them grieve well. Yet, they praise You. As months pass and memories arise, comfort them. And all will praise You. Amen.

We never had the pleasure of knowing Marco. But we know his parents Diego and Maria, and we know them to be some of the brightest, smartest, most loving parents and people… ever. We are sure that we would have felt a similar respect for Marco, because we are sure that he received, during his too short life, all the best that parents could give and provide. To our dear friends Diego and Maria, we offer our love and support and respect.

EOS Support & EOS Respect Community

September 21, 2023, 7:53 am

In loving memory of Marco González,

It is with heavy hearts that we reflect on the life of our valued member of the EOS Respect Community, Marco González. Marco left us and created a gap that will be very difficult to fill.

Marco was an extraordinary human being, a true pillar of the EOS community. From the beginning, he played a crucial role as one of the first delegates at EDEN on EOS and later became the main author of news articles at EOS Support.

His commitment to the EOS ecosystem was unwavering and his passion for blockchain technology was evident in everything he did. A gifted author and journalist, Marco carefully documented and analyzed the ever-evolving EOS landscape and challenged the community to think critically about the technology and its implications. He believed in the power of blockchain to empower people and create a more just world based on shared values.

In addition, Marco was also an active member of the Fractally community and the Eden Creators where he actively participated in numerous meetings aimed at exploring innovative ways of community collaboration, with the goal of creating foundational public goods that benefit everyone.

Marco was not only a respected writer, but also a trusted leader. He was elected Chief Delegate of the EOS Respect Community several times, guided us with his knowledge and supported promising Web3 projects. He earned the trust and respect of everyone he served.
Today we remember Marco and the profound impact he had on our community. His contributions and legacy will be treasured forever.

We extend our deepest condolences to Marco’s family at this difficult time and share their grief and loss.
As we honor Marco’s memory, we are committed to advancing his vision of a better world through blockchain technology. Let us continue to learn, grow and work together to achieve the ideals he held dear. Although Marco is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of the EOS and EOS Respect Community.

Rest in peace, dear Marco. With heartfelt condolences, the EOS Support Team & the EOS Respect Community.

Marco touched the hearts of so many. He was an avid contributor to the vision and conversations of a global community, always lifting us up with his words. I was fortunate to know and collaborate with him, if only at a distance, over these past several years. Many from our community may not feel comfortable sharing their words here, but as one of the representatives of our ecosystem, I want you to know that our entire community mourns his loss, he will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to Marco’s entire family, he was a true gem, and his spirit lives on.

I started to see Marco in the EOS Blockchain community time before we shared as teammates in the EOS Support team.

He was a gifted writer and I enjoyed so much his dedicated work each week in an online publication led by him to serve the community. He did it by heart even without receiving any remuneration.

I thank God for his life and dedication, and pray for peace to his family on this difficult time.

I knew Marco through our shared enthusiasm for next-generation technological solutions for achieving a shared consensus within a group. As someone who is interested in learning about aviation, I always loved listening to Marco’s explanations and flying metaphors. I was excited to share my idea for a blockchain black box with him and see what he thought, but I didn’t seize the opportunity when I had it. I’m sure the sense of loss I feel is nothing compared to those who knew him most closely. Sleep sound in paradise.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
