It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our matriarch, Mary Ann (Roberts) Keaney. Mom has now joined the love of her life Jim to continue their storybook journey which included many years of worldwide travel. Mary was born in Worcester, MA on April 19,1932 to Mary Ellen (Doyle) and Patrick Joseph Roberts who emigrated from Killamey, Ireland. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, James Walter Keaney who died in 2010, brothers Daniel, David, John, and sister Kathleen Mulcahy. She also leaves behind her children Susan (Steve) Browning, Sharon (Jon) Morrissey, Patricia (Larry) Blasius and James (Katherine) Keaney. Her 8 precious grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mary had many interests which included being a seamstress sewing clothes for her family and beautiful home decor, gardening and reading. Mom was also known as “the Scrabble Queen”. Her family was the most important thing to her. She and our dad were wonderful role models. Mom and Dad’s love story started in 7th grade when he sat behind her in school and constantly pulled at her pigtails, love at first sight! They were married for almost 60 years. Mom was a stay-at-home mother until her children were settled in school. She worked at First National Stores in MA for many years before relocating to San Jose, CA, she then worked for the San Jose School System until her retirement. Mom moved to Florida to spend her last years at a senior living complex and made herself a ‘little nest’.
We will miss her, but she is such a part of us we will always feel her presence.
A private celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

I didn’t know her well, but she left a great impression. She was kind and gentle but she pulled no punches. She seemed to be quite funny also. Thank you so much Susan and Steve for letting me enjoy her company. She was a blessing to all of you. She’s at peace she will be forever missed. So sorry. Sending much love. Starlette

We were so pleased when we were invited to Sue and Steve’s home and Mary aka “Mom” was present. She was always smiling and able to join in every conversation, regardless of subject. A wonderful lady!
