ROTHFUSS, MARY L. “Marylou” (CONDE), 83, of Vero Beach Florida, passed away on June 7, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer.
She was the wife of her first and only love, the late Alfred L. Rothfuss (2014).

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Urban and Gertrude (Parker) Conde. Marylou was the sister of Norman Conde of VA, Edmund Conde of CT, Elaine Bruce of CA and the late Donald Conde and Jeanette Conde Cabral.

She is survived by her children, Lori Hoffman (Jeff) of Vero Beach FL, Alan Rothfuss (Scott Outerbridge) of Warwick, RI, Mark Rothfuss (Michelle) of Plympton, MA and Melissa Rothfuss of Vero Beach, FL, and her grandchildren Chelsea Monte (Nate), Kyle Rothfuss, Peter Hoffman, and Emily Rothfuss (Chris Walsh) and by her great grandchildren Myles Monte and Malcolm Walsh.

Marylou graduated from Mount Hope High School in Providence RI. After high school, she married and started a family in Warwick RI. She raised four children and was an active member of Asbury Methodist Church. She also worked as a Church Secretary for many years. Al and Marylou were active boaters that ventured all around Narragansett Bay and the Elizabeth Islands in their boat Aquarius. They also enjoyed summers on Johnson’s Pond in Coventry RI.

After retirement, Al and Marylou traveled for several years, exploring every state in their RV. Finally, they settled in Vero Beach FL, where they enjoyed Florida living. Marylou was an active member of Sebastian United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Arrangements are under the care of Millennium Cremation Service of Vero Beach. Friends who would like to share condolences with the family may sign an online guestbook at www.millenniumcremationservice.com.

Marylou and Al served the Friends of the North Indian River County Library for many years with Marylou as President and Al as Treasurer. We were devastated to lose Al and now so sad to hear of Marylou’s passing. I know she also served the church with
the same amount of commitment and competence that she gave to the Friends of the Library.

We sang in the choir with Mary Lou for a number of years. A lovely, dedicated, funny gal!
Many will feel a loss with her leaving us.
No doubt that she will Rest In Peace.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
