Michael John Lawson

July 07, 1953 ~ April 12, 2022

Michael John Lawson, 68, of Port St. Lucie passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Michael was born July 7, 1953 in Pontiac Michigan to Clifford John Lawson and Mae Agnes Robillard. He had been a full-time resident of Port St. Lucie for 13 years after many years dividing his time between Michigan and Florida.

Prior to his retirement he worked as a Water Treatment Manager for Palm Beach County for two decades.

Michael had a passion for classic cars. Preferably a Chevy Corvair or Chevelle. He loved making the annual trips to Detroit to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise. Attendees from far and wide would travel to show off their automotive masterpieces. There, Michael would marvel at some of the most impressive modern and classic cars, motorcycles and trucks that ever drove the Motor City streets. In addition to cars, Michael was a sports fan. While he enjoyed most sports his favorite, without question, was baseball. Staying true to his Michigan roots, he was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 10 years, Shelly; father, Clifford John Lawson; mother, Mae Agnes Busch and sister, Michele Luisi.

Survivors include his sister, Beverly Beaufait and her husband, Richard of Louisville, Colorado; nieces, Celeste Marie Beaufait of Eerie, Colorado and Erica Mason of Iowa City, Iowa; many close friends and his beloved Chiweenie, Gracy.

Those that would like to share a fond memory of Michael or leave a condolence for his family may sign an online guestbook at www.millenniumcremationservice.com. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Millennium Cremation Service of Port St. Lucie.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
