Neal Leslie Blodgett

Neal Leslie “Puppy” Blodgett, 102 of Sebastian, FL passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, at his daughter’s home.

Neal was born on August 30, 1921, in Hartford, CT. He’s been a resident of Sebastian for the past year, coming from Higganum.

He is survived by Neal L. and Pat Blodgett, Jr. of Higganum, CT, William and Sherrie Blodgett of Port St. Lucie, FL; Charles and Beverly Blodgett Peters of Sebastian, FL; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Neal served in the United States Navy during World War II for three years as a Petty Officer.

He sold insurance, was a professional photographer (Town & Country Studios). A merchant with three shops (The Den Gifts For Men). Neal and his wife of 71 years, Marjorie (who preceded in death) flipped 10 houses. In much later years he started another business as a self-taught wood carver (Artisan Country Folk Art).

He was a mason and a member of HHCC most of his adult life. He enjoyed golf, sailing, fishing, chess and especially a good game of cards.

Our loss is Heaven’s gain.

A personal thank you to his neighbors, friends and The Brainerd Library who were always there for him.

Memorial contributions may be made to Higganum Congregational Church, 23 Parsonage Rd., Higganum, CT 06441.
