Patricia De Lay

June 09, 1935 ~ May 02, 2023

Patricia De Lay, nee Rady, passed away in her sleep from complications of COPD on May 2, 2023, in Vero Beach, FL at the age of 87. She is survived by her brother, Allan Rady (Janis); daughter, Lisa Warner (son, Christopher) and daughter, Laura Shirley (Reese Shirley and sons, Kevin & Kyle, and daughter, Kathryn); son Lance (Jeannette, son, Bryce, and daughter, Hadley); son, Lee Robert De Lay, III (Monica, son, Jackson, and daughter, Cady); and stepdaughter, Babs De Lay (Julie De Lay).  Pat was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 9, 1935, and worked at the telephone company for many years. She was known for her sparkly cat-eye glasses and her keen fashion sense. Many compared her to fashion maven Iris Apfel, and although she never owned many designer pieces of jewelry or clothes, you would have never known as she was always the height of fashion. She married the love of her life, Lee after being married previously to an abusive man. Lee was also a dapper man, complimenting her look with his French cuffs, alpaca sweaters, and polished shoes. Both loved to travel to Mexico and sit at the bar drinking margaritas. Pat always had to have hers served in a ‘bucket’ glass and order a deep-fried whole fish to eat. Her ashes, along with Lee’s, will be spread by family at locations of their choice including a beach in Mexico. There will be no services and the family ask you to tip a glass to Pat and Lee who are finally reunited just short a few years of their 50th anniversary.

Momma Pat fly with angels and watch over us. Get the place ready for us like we know you will.
I’m so blessed to have gotten to met you. Your memory, laughter, smile, and light will live on in me until we meet again in paradise.

I’m missing my long time BFF PAT even more knowing I won’t see her again. I have SO many fond, fun and all those other memories with her that I will cherish until it is my time to R.I.P. with her. She touched many lives and she made a difference. I love you Pat forever. ~ Becky

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
