Richard B. Deaver, 78 of Port Saint Lucie, FL passed away on August 12, 2026.
Rich was born in Hammonton, New Jersey. He spent more than 45 years living in Vineland, New Jersey, where he worked for the City of Vineland Electric Utility and also worked at **Kimble Glass. **In 1995, Rich moved to South Florida, where he made Port St. Lucie, Florida, his home for the remainder of his life.
Rich shared nearly 57 years of marriage with the love of his life, his wife, Barbara. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and devotion to one another.
Rich was a man who loved his family deeply and took great pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. He was especially devoted to his grandsons and never missed a sporting event. Whether it was a game, match, or competition, Rich could always be found in the stands, proudly cheering them on and supporting them every step of the way.
Rich had many passions throughout his life. He had an enduring love for hot rods and race cars, appreciating their power, craftsmanship, and the excitement that came with them. He also loved bass fishing, enjoying the time spent outdoors and the peacefulness of being on the water.
Rich was also incredibly talented with his hands and had a natural ability to figure things out. There was very little he couldn’t fix. Whether something was broken around the house, a vehicle needed attention, or a problem needed solving, Rich always seemed to know what to do. His family often relied on him because he was, quite simply, a genius at fixing anything.
Rich was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Di Gioia Deaver; his brother, Patrick Deaver; and his sister, Delores Walker.
He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara (Hanley); his daughters, Jennifer (Ryan) LaVoie and Kelly (Ricardo) Nunes; his three beloved grandsons, Ryan Jr., Tyler, and Dominic; his sisters Barbara Walker and Florence Royce (Douglas) as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Rich will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, his love, strength, knowledge, and devotion to his family will live on through the people he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Dad. We love you, and we will miss you more than words can ever express.
