He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Silvius, father, Melrose Kent, and adopted father, Arnold Randall, his brother Whitney Randall, sister Sherry Ann See, his sons, Mark Wayne Randall and Richard Donald Randall, Jr. He is survived by his wife Edith Hopkins Randall, stepchildren Johnny Hopkins (son, Chris, daughter, Christina, son, Brian, and daughter, Kalian), William Hopkins (Wayne Richie), Mary Ann Hopkins Linn (Steven and grandogs Precious, Bugsly, Lola, and Jumper) and Judy Ann Hopkins Huey (Brian and son, Justin), his brother, Ronald Randall, half brother, Guy Irving Kent, his daughters Linda Mae Wallace (Mark), Cheryl Greiling (Scott and sons, Sheldon, Stephen and Seth), Tonya Calie (Tim and children Regan and TJ), and grandchildren Trey Randall Hinton (Melissa and children Elijah and Ellie), Joshua Randall (Hannah and children Max and Camille), Jessica Randall (son Cornelius), Lauren Pelfrey(Gavin and children Asher and Seneca); and several nieces, nephews and close family friends.

He was born on March 1st, 1936 in Jonesport, Maine. He graduated from Jonesport High in 1953. Played basketball and baseball. He placed second in the Maine state snap bean competition all because of a “bad row.” He served in the U.S. Marines. He pitched softball for 50 years going to the world series in his church league. He worked for RC Cola, Lance Crackers (district manager, retired), and Standard Coffee. He loved going to car auctions and watching the Orlando Magic. Richard never met a stranger. He loved the Lord, his church, and his family.

The family would love to thank VNA Hospice House for the superb and compassionate care they provided to Richard and to the entire family. The entire staff of doctors, nurses, assistants, and all the volunteers were wonderful. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to https://vnatc.org/waystogive/.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
