Richard H. Dawe, 95, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away December 7, 2023. He was born September 1, 1928, in Summerville, MA and had been a resident of Florida since 1948.
Mr. Dawe graduated from Medford High School and served in the Army during the occupation of Japan (WWII). He worked for FPL in the Miami area, retiring after 40 years of service.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife of 73 years, Jane Dawe; daughter Bonnie Hughes (James), daughter Linda Crocilla and son Richard Jr. (Lynda). Grandchildren, Kyle Hughes (Robyn), Kendra Behnke (Kyle), Jessie Crocilla, Christopher Crocilla (Victoria) and Ryan Carl. Great-grandchildren Kaylee Hughes, Alanna Hughes, Gio Crocilla and Kai Crocilla. Arrangements are under the direction of Millennium Cremation Service. Condolences may be shared online at

Jane, so sorry to hear about Jack’s passing. You are very blessed to have him for 72 years. Any time I saw him was was so kind. I know you will miss him. Lifting you and your family up in my prayers

Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do.
