Richard W. Miller, 71
Vero Beach, Florida
On January 6, 2024, Rich earned his wings and left this earth to reunite with family and friends in heaven.
He was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Robert and Eva Miller (nee Spital) and was a resident of Hillside, NJ for 22 years. Rich was a 1970 graduate of Kean University, Union, NJ with a BA in Business and Accounting and a Brother of Nu Delta Pi fraternity.
On December 7, 1974, Rich married the love of his life, Kathi Lynn (nee Brown) from Clark, NJ. Married 49 glorious and adventurous years, Rich and Kathi looked forward to celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary later this year.
Rich spent his entire career working in the pharmaceutical manufacturing and new product development field, achieving the title of Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Rich (and Kathi) was relocated for business opportunities numerous times from New Jersey to North Carolina, Missouri, Georgia, Florida, back to Georgia and finally, by their choice, to Vero Beach, Florida. At the time of his passing, Rich was employed by United Pharma, LLC located in Fullerton, CA as Vice President of New Business Development.
Rich was active in the Vero Beach Elks Lodge #1774 serving the lodge he loved dearly. He was elected to all officer chairs including his highest achievement as Exalted Ruler (President). He was currently a 5 year Trustee and proudly served the South East Central District as District Esquire to the District Deputy, Grand Exalted Ruler. Rich worked tirelessly for the Vero Beach lodge raising funds for Children’s and Veteran’s Charities, Wabasso School, Florida Elks Youth Camp, Girl Scout Cookies for Soldiers and Kards 4 Kids, and even as an Assistant Cook, just to name just a few. Rich love their
home in Vero Beach and would spend his free time enjoying their home, beach and swimming. No matter in what state they resided, Rich enjoyed driving and loved announcing a sudden weekend “road trip” as they packed a change of clothes, snacks and let the Lord and the road be their guide. Rich loved their boats living in NJ and looked forward to purchasing a Florida pontoon boat or an RV when he retired.
Although they moved to numerous states, near or far, Rich loved his family dearly and was a dedicated family man. He especially loved his Nephews and Nieces. A big piece of his heart belonged to his adorable Great Nephews, Warren and Nate.

It was our pleasure to get to know Rich these past few years. Whenever you saw Rich involved you knew the job was getting done. He worked tirelessly for all the programs for children with an energy renewed with every new project. You always wanted Rich on your “Name That Tune” team as he truly knew his music! His smile was one that greeted many friends as they walked through the doors of the Elks his presence will always be missed may he test in peace.

Dear Kathi,
As we stated in our voicemail, texts and card, we have no adequate words to express the loss we feel at Rich’s passing. It was our pleasure to meet and get to know him and you. His (and your) dedication to anything he (and you) undertook, especially at the Vero Beach Elks, was admirable and commendable, and resulted in valuable help to various community groups and entities, as well as to our lodge.
Rich was a true gentleman and a true gentle soul who gave all he had to give. He will be sorely missed.
For you, Kathi, we pray for peace and acceptance, and the total confidence that you now have a personal strong Guardian Angel watching out for you and protecting you from Heaven.
Remember that we are here ready, willing, and able to help you in any way we can.
Love,
Oscar & Elsa Erice
