Robert Joseph Romer

December 24, 1934 ~ April 09, 2020

Robert Joseph Romer of Barefoot Bay, Fl was called home by his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 9th, 2020. He was born in Astoria Queens and moved to NJ where he lived and raised his family until retiring to Florida 22 years ago. He entered into the service at the tender age of 17, proudly served his country, and always remained proud for doing so! He was a US Navy Veteran, served in the Korean War and on board the USS Wedderburn. He could be spotted in Walmart or around town wearing his Korean Veteran hat. His greatest attributes were his love for others and remarkable sense of humor.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his wife, and family. He married his first love and was blessed with 64 years of marriage to his beloved, Jacqueline Ann Moran.

He was the founder and owner of B & J Exterminating, Brick NJ. He attended Rutgers Cook College to obtain his training and license in his field.

His proudest achievement was raising his 10 children and 3 siblings on his wife’s side, 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. He lived an incredibly full life.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL  32960.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
