Robert Parker Bennett

April 06, 1934 ~ March 26, 2022

Born, April sixth, 1934, in Hempstead New York, Robert Parker Bennett was the son of Andy Bennett and Marjorie Vorris.

Bob was an avid antique collector and dealer, expert scuba diver, professional electrician, recreational pilot, adventurer, and consummate jokester. Early in life he also served in the National Guard and was a highly awarded marksman. He moved to Eau Gallie Florida in the early 1960s to join cousins who were already in the area. He was quickly swayed away from his goal of moving to California when he saw the beautiful tropics of Florida. Many other family members migrated to Florida too, including his mom Marjorie and younger brother Peter Bennett as well as an array for aunts and cousins. Around the same time Bob began his adventures to the country of Belize as well. There he created a giant extended network of family and friends, as he was always ready for a good adventure. He married a beautiful Belizean woman named Amparo Ordonez in Belize City and they had one daughter Paulita. The new family moved back to Florida by the late 1970s to settle in the lovely Vero Beach.

In his early years in Florida Bob always drove the coolest car in town and used to hang out with his younger brother Pete often exploring beaches, cave diving, and attending gun shows. Bob’s favorite views of nature were found in Cayo, Mountain Pine Ridge, and the vistas from the Cisco Farm on Hummingbird Highway in Belize. Around his home, Bob collected antique toys and weapons and loved nature photography.

Bob was loved by many and is survived by his brother Peter, only daughter Paulita, and son in law Edgemont. The spirit of his humor will live on through a beautiful extended family and friends across Belize and the United States who will continue to tell all his jokes for years to come. He transitioned on March 26, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in Vero Beach.

There is no doubt he leaves a wonderful legacy of infectious love for laughter, exploring the ocean, and the beauty of the Caribbean with his daughter, as well as a trail of good memories across New York, Florida, and Belize with everyone who met him. Robert Bennett, a maverick, and a life well lived.

What a beautiful life Paula! Your dad’s unique and loving way lives on in you. May you feel him in the beautiful antique you will collect in the future, may you feel him by the oceans waves and may you be reminded of his love for you always
and forever.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
