Sarah Leetona Pickles (née Hart), a loving daughter, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, cherished sister, and gentle caretaker, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2025, at the age of 64.
Born on December 7, 1960, in Brooksville, Florida, to Jack and Janice Hart, Sarah was the youngest of four children. She grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and the warm company of her siblings—Edward Hart (Michelle), Richard Hart, and Kay Spivey, who was preceded in death by her husband, James—as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In her early years, Sarah’s family moved to Sebastian, Florida, where she spent what she often called the best years of her life. She embraced the simple joys of the 60s and 70s and found a deep connection to her faith through the church her father pastored. It was in Sebastian that she met the love of her life, Gregory Pickles. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home in Wabasso, Florida, where they remained until Gregory’s passing.
Sarah was the proud mother of three children, each of whom she loved unconditionally: James Tyler Pickles (Julee), Chelsy Rae Pickles, and Haylee Angel Reed Curran (Christopher). Over the past decade, she found immeasurable joy in being “Nana” to her five beloved grandchildren: Madilyn, Mason, Eli, Eisley, and Cohen. Whether she was singing lullabies, cheering from the sidelines, or simply offering a listening ear, Sarah’s presence as Nana was a steady source of comfort, encouragement, and endless love.
Sarah was a natural caregiver in every sense of the word. She poured her heart into caring for others, especially her family, and gave freely of her time, love, and attention. Her kindness, compassion, and quiet strength touched all who knew her.
She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her warm and caring spirit.
We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her loving husband, Gregory; her father, Jack; and her dear mother, Janice, who passed away only three months ago.
Her legacy is one of love, service, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

I was so happy when Sarah and I reconnected on Facebook. I met Sarah when I was six years old her daddy and my daddy were friends when they were little boys her grandmother Edna Austin, and my mother were very good friends. They lived on liberty Street so did me and my husband bought the house across the street from there old house 23 years ago. I will always love liberty Street and I would always think about them and playing ball and everything in the backyard and even swimming in the creek believe it or not Sarah you were loved. I know you are loving in heaven. God bless your family and comfort them❤️
