Thomas Lloyd Searl

May 17, 1944 ~ October 25, 2019

Thomas Lloyd Searl of Vero Beach, FL entered into eternal life on October 25th, 2019.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Geraldine. Tom is survived by his brother, Ronald (Lynn) Searl of Greer, SC; and five children who were his pride and joy: Jennifer Searl (Jeff) Palleschi of Vero Beach, FL; David (Wendy) Simeur of Bellingham, WA; Jason (Christine) Searl of Wichita, KS; Jodi Searl (Scott Kilmer) of Milwaukee, WI; and Christoper Simeur (Amy Hacker) of DuPont, WA; seven loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Tom was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a proud veteran of the US Army.

Tom loved all things Harley-Davidson, classic cars and the Chicago Cubs. He worked as a commercial truck driver and retired from Maytag in Galesburg, IL to Florida in 2003. From then to his passing, he split his time between Vero Beach and Milwaukee with his daughters. Never a man who could sit still, he served as a volunteer at Grace Rehab in Vero Beach and spent his summers doing all things Milwaukee- which included annual family motorcycle trips to Sturgis and beyond. He was the consummate handy man and loved tackling home improvement projects, sometimes with unintended consequences. He never said no to offering his hand, his heart and his hard work to anyone who needed it. He loved dogs, a good road trip, visits with friends and family, riding around town, barbequing, dining out, and watching TV and old movies.

A private family service will be held in Vero Beach and Tom’s children plan to memorialize and honor him along Route 66 via motorcycles and trucks.

Memorials can be made to Grace Rehab of Vero Beach, FL, but he’d likely prefer you just toast a life well lived.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
