On Thursday, April 9, 2020, Thomas R. Hahn, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 82. Tom was born December 10, 1937 in Muscatine, Iowa to Robert and June (Jones) Hahn. He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1955. Tom was fourth generation in the Hahn Brothers family business and Hahn Ready Mix. He married Linda Carnahan Anson on August 26, 2000.
Tom’s faith in God guided his character and actions in life. He had a passion for creating things: through the physical world with his hands, and in the emotional realm via connections with his family and community. Helping others was Tom’s source of genuine joy. Reflecting on his life, some of his traits that best honor him and reflect his true character are humility, kindness, work ethic, compassion, and generosity. Tom was a leader for his family, company, church, and community with a quiet dignity that was as inspiring as it was distinguished.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 211 Walnut St, Muscatine, IA 52761.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Linda; his three children, Brian (Janell) Hahn, Ginger Hahn, Cinda (Fred) Hoopes; 7 grandchildren, Jessica and Jeremy Drake, Ben, Zach, and Sam Hoopes, Griffin and Lex Hahn, and 13 great- grandchildren, 4 stepchildren, Lori, John, Jeff, Jim.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Lou.

I was shocked to read about Tom’s death. We graduated from high school together, and the last time I saw him was for our 45th reunion, as I have lived on the West Coast since graduating. A favorite memory of Tom was from that graduation night in 1955, when I had to give a speech and was nervous –he was so encouraging and helpful.
My deepest sympathy to all his loved ones —

Our sincere condolences on the loss of Tom. The power of death has no hold on those who believe in Jesus Christ. Tom was a great friend since junior high school. A friend who was always there to help and support but never did he shrink away. His wonderful smile has always been a part of my memory even while being away so many years after high school. It was so much fun to get reacquainted over the last few years!
He will be missed by his class mates, his church and this community! Love, Warren and Marilyn

For the family of Tom,
We were so shocked to read of Tom’s passing. We were unaware of his being ill.
Tom and I attended MHS together and both graduated in 1955. I remember Tom as being a friendly and fun loving guy. The last time we were together was at our 45th,or maybe our 50th, class reunion and it was fun to be together again as classmates. It was fun to ‘catch up’.
We will hold each of you close in our thoughts and prayers. May your memories bring you comfort and may the knowledge that, because of your faith you will be together again one day, bring you peace.
Our sympathy and prayers,
Ron and Kathy (Barry) Marshall

It’s absolutely disgusting what you have done to your fathers wife. Kicking an 81 year old lady, that he loved, our of her home during a quarantine. She was the love of his life and him hers. She broke her knee trying desperately to see him before he died. And for money, you put her to the street. You should be ashamed of yourself!
