Victor H. Werany

September 18, 1938 ~ January 31, 2023

Victor H. Werany passed away at 84 on January 31, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Brooklyn, NY to Howard and Lorena (Steudtner) Werany on Sept. 18, 1938.
His life was rich with a multitude of interests and friends. He was passionate about classical music, Russian literature, history of World War lol,, his gun collection, riding his motorcycle, fishing, sports, and art. These interests, as well as his involvement in many organizations, gained him many friends and colleagues.
He was employed as an accountant with NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance and served as a volunteer firefighter with Monhagen Hose Co. #1 in his hometown of Middletown, NY and thoroughly enjoyed helping to restore their antique 1923 American La France fire engine. He received their Fire Fighter of the Year award in 2007 and 2008 and Captains Award in 2009.
He was proud of his military service in the United States Air Force, serving in France, and continued his affiliation with military organizations throughout his life.
He also served his community by volunteering his time on various Boards in both Middletown and Town of Wallkill, NY and in Vero Beach, FL.
Survivors include his beloved companion Virginia Duetsch, ex-wives Nancy Werany and Barbara Krajewski, his children Marie (Sam) Liu, Victor (Tara) Werany, grandchildren Jake and Helena Werany, sisters Janetta Montouri and Eunice Golia.
