Wayne Carl Johnson, 77, of Palm Bay, Florida, peacefully went to heaven on May 29, 2026, with family by his side.
He was born in New Brunswick City, New Jersey on May 8, 1949. He had been a resident of Palm Bay at Grand Villa Senior Living Community for 4 years, coming from Grant, Florida. Wayne earned his GED from Point Pleasant Boro High School in 1968.
Joining the United States Marine Corps in 1968 and completing basic training at Camp Lejeune, he was shipped off to Vietnam shortly after. He earned 4 decorations: the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal with 2*, Viet Nam Campaign Medal w/device 1960 and the Combat Action Ribbon. Earning the rank of Corporal, joining the Marines was one of his most proud moments in life. After being Honorably Discharged from his service, he worked as an electrician, as well as a deckhand on the Cock Robin fishing boat based out of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. This experience laid the groundwork for his life-long passion, his love for fishing, of which he enjoyed just weeks before his passing.
He is survived by his partner Barbara Feldbau, his daughter Amy Bedwell, son-in-law Ken Bedwell; grandchildren Miles, Jack, & Sloane; siblings Roger Johnson and Debra Kahn; his aunt Helen Germann, cousins Linda Burt, RoseMarie Oxford and many more loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by parents Carl “Kelly” Johnson & Estelle Johnson; sister Carol Johnson.
